Moor / Telescope
The GSGB’s emblem is a “Globe – Eye” a fork tailed variety with telescope eyes, which had a defined shape. The emblem has been with us for 60+ years but the variety in practice was never more than rare. It evolved into the Broadtail (ie Veiltail) Moor – which as the name suggests is always black – and the nacreous form proved to be a popular fish but a difficult show specimen. The revised 2014 show standards recognised the inevitable and combined the two. All metallic colours as well as nacreous fish are acceptable, but when considering the variety, everything that applies to the veiltail applies plus the need to have the telescope eyes. A real challenge!
